Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is one of the essential fatty acids that make up human cell membranes, but it is vulnerable to stress and tends to be lacking in modern diets. The brain and liver can produce small amounts, but it is difficult to obtain from ordinary foods. This dietary supplement combines GLA as its main ingredient with medium-chain triglyceride oil and vitamin E.
